In the context of the RTI framework, progress monitoring is used to assess student progress or performance in those areas in which they were identified by universal screening as being at-risk for failure (e.g., reading, mathematics, social behavior). It is the method by which teachers or other school personnel determine if students are benefiting appropriately from the typical (e.g., grade level, locally determined, etc.) instructional program, identify students who are not making adequate progress, and help guide the construction of effective intervention programs for students who are not profiting from typical instruction (Fuchs & Stecker, 2003).
Progress Monitor your students using Universal Screening tools. Tools used in Fulton County Schools for Progress Monitoring include:

*Notify Mrs. Porter if a student hasn't made adequate progress after 6 weeks of interventions.
*Complete the Campbell SST Checklist.
*Once the checklist is complete, it will be submitted to Mrs. Abrams. She will then schedule a tier 3 meeting and invite parents, school psychologist, and additional support staff.
*Teachers should continue providing services/interventions to the student. Worksamples should also be maintained.
*If progress has been made by a student in 6 weeks, continue to monitor (until grade level expectations are met).
